So this is gross...

Today, a coworker came up to me while she was eating strawberry yogurt, and told me that an ingredient in it is actually ground up BEETLES! Ick! I didn't actually believe it at first, but she pulled up an article on the internet and sure enough, there it was! Food manufacturers use Carmine (ground up beetles) as an insect-based food coloring ingredient. It was bad enough that she told me that (who knows what half of the ingredients in the foods we eat are anyways!), but then seeing a picture of the red beetle just made it really bad! Since I had to see it, I decided we
all needed to see it...

Pretty disgusting when you think about it, huh?! Here is the article if anyone would like to read about this http://www.newstarget.com/z002043.html . Anyway...I just thought I would provide everyone (in case you didn't already know) with some useless knowledge today.

On another note, I wanted to thank you for the positive feedback from my previous post. It was not nearly as bad as I thought it would be (I think most of us make things seem so much worse in our mind than they really turn out to be). I appreciate the support, and will try my best to have a very positive outlook over the next 9 months. Thanks again...

Oh, and congratulations to Leah for getting the question right about Maggie...everyone thinks she looks like Gizmo...

Also, I thought Teale's comment about Gremlins being called "Mogwai's" in the movie, and our dogs name being "Maggie" was a great observation! Thanks to all who played my little game! :o) I hope everyone has a great week!!

After thought...I think that "Meet the Robinsons" comes out tomorrow on DVD, and if you haven't seen it, you should! Josh and I went to the theater twice to see it...once in 3D. Each time I walked out of the there wiping the tears off my face. I know that sounds silly considering it is a cartoon movie, but it had the best message...Keep Moving Forward! I loved it and think that everyone should see it :)

That is gross. It is true, no telling what is in our food. If we read everything on the labels, we probably wouldn't eat it. Thanks for sharing. Hope you have a great week.
