So it's just me and the dogs...

at least for the next 33 days. I ended up having to leave him in Birmingham at the halfway house. We don't really know much right now. He just called (at least now he can call whenever, he just needs a lot of quarters), and he sounded a little down, but I told him that at least we know he will not be gone any longer than 33 days. He could actually come home before then, but we just don't know yet. He told me that a PO (probation officer) will be contacting me to "inspect" the house. That should be fun! I'm hunting dust bunnies as we speak! They also have to verify his job, which we are so thankful that his boss has held for him thru this past year! I'll let you know more once he finds out what's going on.

So enough with the unhappy stuff, let me tell you about this morning! I got there right at 7:30, and he was actually walking through the parking lot with his 2 boxes of stuff. He couldn't stop to say anything, but he got a huge grin on his face, and so did I! I waited about 10 minutes and he came back out with his boxes and I put them in the car...still no hug at this point. He went back in to finalize everything and to change into a pair of jeans (literally, you could stand these jeans up on their own without anyone in them...I don't know what they're made of?!). So he came out right at 8, and I started running towards him, all the while he's saying "get in the car, get in the car, let's get out of here, you aren't supposed to be out of the car!" lol...Needless to say I sped out of there. Since he has never seen the house, and we had 2 hours to get to Bham, he wanted to come here to see it. I have never got from Talladega to Calera so fast, ever! I think I made it in 45 minutes! He came in to see the house, and he loved it. Whew...I have been worried considering I put an offer without him knowing in the first place! Anyway, the next thing was to see the dogs. Poor Josh has been soo worried that they wouldn't know him anymore, and just bark and growl at him! Well, they didn't!!! I was soo happy...I had actually had a talk with them yesterday and told them not too (you know you talk to your animals too ;o) So he got a tour and sat on the floor to play with them for a few minutes. Then he changed out of the cardboard jeans and put on some of HIS clothes! I can not tell you how great it has been to see him in something besides green! That's all I saw him in during visits. He looks great! He put on a pair of shorts, and they literally fell off! He has his belt on the last hole, and it's still too big! As of yesterday, he has lost exactly 100 lbs! Go Josh!! I'm very proud of him! Anyway, so we left, talked, held hands, smiled, laughed...it was great! And he will be home soon!!
