This and that...

Josh and I worked in the yard Friday night and Saturday. It is looking soo much better! I'll post pics later. This is going to take a few more weeks to complete. It was a lot of fun (I love pulling weeds and getting my hands dirty), and we both felt a sense of accomplishment. We also got pretty burned, so definitely need to use to sunscreen next weekend!

I am going to have a small garden in our backyard, which I am SUPER excited about! I have already started growing lettuce, which is looking good so far. The remainder of my garden will contain tomatoes, peppers, herbs, cucumber and green beans! I read an article a couple of weeks ago that showed how much you can actually save by having your own garden, and the numbers were unreal. I have always wanted a garden, so this year will definitely be trial and error :o) If anyone has tips, I would love to hear them!! Oh, I do need to know what all to put in a compost!! I know you can put egg shells, grass clippings, raw veggies, peels, coffee grounds in there. Is there anything else, and is it true that if I get earth worms, it will decompose everything faster so that I can start using it?? I am very new at all of this, but the thought of using compost sounds so neat to me!! Any and all tips will be greatly appreciated!!

On another note, I think the Clairol House Party is going to be this Saturday (the 2nd). I have 5 people signed up, so if you would like to attend, I still have vouchers left. I think this is going to be a lot of fun!! I will be sure to take lots of before and after pics (I have to anyway for my houseparty blog).

***Also, I'm placing a Mary Kay order this week, so if anyone needs anything, please let me know :O) http://www.marykay.com/ajones41704/default.aspx

I hope everyone had a great weekend and is having a good week so far!

I have always been intrigued with planting a garden but I have a bit of a black thumb. I've thought about planting some blackberries along our fence in the backyard. I'm sure you will save lots of money!

Good luck gardening. Wish I had a green thumb, or pinky, or anything else!
