Publix - Week 2

Thanks for tuning in to the 2nd installment of "My Trip to Publix"! lol...but seriously, if you're back and getting deals yourself, that's great! I want to hear about them. I'm still trying my best to get the deals and stockpile as much as possible, and I feel like I'm doing a good job, but I know that there is always room for improvement. Here is how we did today...

So when we went today (we meaning Josh and I), I decided we could get the best deals if we split it up. Now please know that the entire time we were in there, I was so afraid that I was doing something wrong and that the "grocery police" were going to get us! Here are the deals that I was going after:

Bic Soleil Razors BOGO when you buy one for $4.99
Glass Plus BOGO when you buy one for $2.49
Juicy Juice BOGO when you buy one for $3.49
Penny Item - Publix White Bread (we usually eat wheat, but when it's a penny!)

So before I give you my total, I'm going to do Josh's first. I had him get the stuff that we didn't have q's for:

1 Frito Scoops
1 Jalapeno Pepper Jar
1 Juicy Juice
2 Ground Chuck
1 Glass Plus
Penny Item

Total Before Advertised Specials, Q's and Tax: $19.60
Total After Advertised Specials & Q's: $12.41 + $1.15 tax = $13.56

Store Savings = $5.19
Coupons = 2.00
Total Savings = $7.19

My list is as follows:
5 Bic Soleil Razors (4 pk) (5, $2.00 off q's)
1 Juicy Juice ($1.00 off q)
1 Glass Plus ($1.00 off q)
Penny Item

Total Before Advertised Specials, Q's and Tax: $32.22
Total After Advertised Specials and Q's: $3.51 + $1.24 Tax = $4.73

Store Savings = $16.71
Coupons = 12.00
Total Savings = $28.71

I was shocked! The cashier even made a comment that those coupons are definitely worth it! I think that was pretty good, and I will not have to buy razors for a couple of years now..lol. You can't turn that deal down though when you are going to get a 4 pk for $0.50!

***Let me tell you why I split it up instead of me getting both glass plus' and both juicy juices. It's actually cheaper when you just buy one b/c that item is 1/2 price. So if I had purchased both juicy juices myself (3.49), I would have got 2 dollars off (b/c I had 2/$1.00 off q's and you can use them even on the free item)and my final price would have been $1.49. Instead, I got one at half price ($1.75) and saved a $1.00 off that with the q which made the total $0.75. I know that all in all we only saved .25, but that's still a quarter! Same with the glass plus, buying one was $1.25 minus $1.00, I got it for .25! I guess on this one we actually could have bought them both together b/c it actually turned out to be the same price, but you see how it works.

Oh, if you have not already done so and you have children or know of one you want to give this to, you can sign up with juicy juice at www.juicyjuice.com and get a free sippy cup along with coupons like the one I used today!

Anyway, I'm about to type up what I did at CVS last week and my possible scenario for this week. I hope everyone has a wonderful week!

Ok, so how do you know when to use more than 1 coupon...do all stores let you use more than 1? I need you to type all this up for me...or just e-mail me and tell me what to buy each week ;P
